The NGO Consult Hub public foundation continued its series of educational events. On July 3, 2026, a practical workshop was held on the Scrumban framework—a hybrid approach to project management.Participants learned about an effective tool that combines the discipline and rhythm of Scrum with the flexibility and visualization of Kanban. This is especially relevant for nonprofits, where projects often require both a clear structure and rapid adaptation to change.What is Scrumban and why does it matter? Scrumban is a hybrid framework that allows teams to work in iterations (sprints lasting 1-3 weeks) while maintaining a continuous flow of tasks and a work-in-progress (WIP) limit. The workshop covered in detail: sprint lifecycle: from planning and task work to presentation of results and retrospectives. Practical steps: creating epics and backlogs, maintaining a Scrumban board, daily standups, retrospectives, and planning the next iterations.
Tools: examples of working with boards in systems like YouTrack. Task types: epics, features, user stories, subtasks, and bugs.Particular attention was paid to the Agile values and principles upon which the approach is built: prioritizing people and interaction, a working product, collaboration with the customer, and a willingness to change.
Benefits for the third sector. Scrumban helps NGOs increase process transparency, improve team coordination, and enhance task execution efficiency—from grant project preparation to internal organizational changes.
